Turkey burger with the healthy works :)

Nothing boring about my turkey burgers!  Who needs buns????


  • 1 lb Lean Ground Turkey Breast
  • 1/4 Sweet Onion
  • Crimini package (baby portabella)
  • Avocado
  • Tomato
  • Balsamic glaze


Finely dice your onion.  I used 1/4 of an onion, but it’s really up to your palate how much you use.

Wash and chop crimini mushrooms.  Place onion and mushrooms in large bowl.  Add turkey and get in there with your hands!  Once well mixed, form your patties.  You can use a binder (1 egg white) if you wish, but I didn’t.  Just had to be gentle and cook slow on the grill.  From 1 lb of turkey, I was able to make 6 turkey burgers.

While burgers are grilling, toss the remaining crimini in a skillet with some EVOO and saute to use as a side.  Slice your avocado and tomatoes.

Once burgers are done…layer it up!  Turkey, tomato, avocado and drizzle with balsamic glaze.  This was the first time I made this and it was freaking amazing!

Plate it with a 4 oz sweet potato and some green beans and your remaining crimini and you’ve got one heck of a healthy and flavorful dish!!
