Yes. Popeye would be proud. This burger was PACKED with spinach!

Ingredients made enough for 7 burgers 🙂 There was a sale on the turkey. lol
- 2 lbs Lean Ground Turkey Breast
- approx. 7 cups Spinach (you could also use frozen…but fresh is soooo much better!!)
- 3 large garlic cloves (sliced or diced)
- 2-3 Green Onions (or you can use a regular yellow onion)
- Cracked black pepper and salt (optional)
Preheat oven to 325 F.
Wash your spinach. Regardless if the package says prewashed or not. Drizzle EVOO in a skillet and saute spinach and garlic until spinach is wilted. I do not have pictures since this was kindly prepared ahead of time for me.
Dice green onion.
In a large bowl, add spinach, green onion and turkey. Add cracked black pepper and a bit of salt if you wish. Get your hand in there and mix thoroughly.
Line cookie sheet with tin foil for easy clean up. Spray with PAM. Form your patties. I made 7.
Cook on middle rack for 35-40 minutes. Internal temp for turkey should be 180 F. You can also grill these which would add another depth of flavor to your burger!
Plate burger and top with whatever you please. I used tomato…but could have used some low fat feta or any low fat cheese…some lettuce, avocado, mustard… If you have to have a bun…use a whole wheat bun please 🙂
Side with my amazing healthy cole slaw and BAM…there it is!!!
