  1. thank you so much for your posting. also a 39 year old mom, figure competitior, who has lost some motivation, IBS and hypothyroid have been a struggle, but found you searcing the body site for motivation. Thank you so much! you are truly inspirational!

    1. Thank you for sharing that Diane! It’s truly why I keep sharing my story and why I created this blog site. I can understand how the medical issues can be challenging…and sometimes discouraging. Remember though that when you feel like you have no control over the things in your life, you do have control over how you eat…and how you treat your body. I know that eating clean really helps keep my IBS under control. I also have to control my stress level because that can also set off my IBS. Gotta be healthy mentally, physically, spiritually! I know the hypothyroid has to be frustrating for you as a competitor or just as a person in general. I hope you have a good physician that is helping you manage it. Many many times I went to my own doctor questioning if I had it…but no. I was on the low end of normal…but normal none the less and I know even at that level it was a struggle to lose weight. Stay strong…stay in control of what you can. Never give up. If you have a bad day…brush yourself off and start again. We’re all human. If you’ve done it once…you can do it again! Best of luck to you and stay in touch.

  2. I am new to this blogging! Can i ask you questions or is that just to time consuming for you to try to answer all questions headed your way? I totally understand! Thank you for your response I am going to try to follow you to stay motivated, again thank you for your time in your busy life, i find it amazing people willing to take time out of their busy lives to help others! Truly a God thing! I love, live by Joyce Meyers, you familiar with her teachings?! if not , check her out!

  3. I’ve been in a slump. I’m a 42 year old single mom. Reading about you on has really motivated me this morning. I’ve printed out some of your recipes off of your blog. They sound great!!!! I’m going to try them and see if I can get back on board:)

    1. Thank you so much for sharing Phyllis! I pray you find success in your journey. Just remember to take it 1 day at a time. Our health deserves our patience and our attention. Let me know how the recipes turn out 🙂 God bless!

  4. Blessing Sandra! Your story caught my attention while checking the Faith and Fitness magazine! I turned 40 this year, and was diagnosed with hypothyroid last year and I am taking medication for that. I have always struggled with the weight and now it seems I cannot lose it algthough I workout everyday and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

How do I start a weight lifting routine, one that I can start at home?

Your life verse is exactly the same as mine!

God Bless you and continue to be an inspiration to other women. Thank you!

  5. My only problem is the cellulite on my thighs! I’m 47 and use to compete in my twenties (until 28) and taught aerobics. I’m a gym rat with a gym room at home we use and the gym near our home. What worked for the cellulite on your thighs?

  6. Hello!

Mike Cadotte referred me to you to talk to you about modeling! You look amazing!! I was hoping you could give me some pointers on how to get started in the modeling business!

  7. I read your success story & wanted to congratulate you. I’ve lost 45 lbs & am in the process of losing the last 35 lbs. I would love to talk to you about cooking for the week. Currently I do five days & blow it on the weekend. Help!

    1. Yevette, Congratulations on your 45 lbs and continuing on to your goal. To make your weekly prep easier…what I do is cook on Monday (for Tues, Wed, Thurs meals) and cook on Thursday (for Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon meals). That way meals stay fresh. It takes me approx 2 hours (sometimes less) to cook on each of those days. IF you have a meal that can be put in the freezer (ex. chili or meatballs, etc)…prepare them all in 1 day and freeze a 1/2 week’s portion. General rule for food safety is not to keep leftovers in the fridge for more than 3 days. So 3 days worth of meals. I have done 4 days and it’s been fine…but that is the food safety rule 😉
